I have fallen in love with a woman I have known for about 10 years now. She is about to go through a divorce and has some bad self esteem issues. One that concerns me the most is that when we go out, she feels that she needs to have the attention of the other males in the bar. After the last time it happened, we fought about it, and then we discussed why she does that. She says she does that because it makes her feel sexy, and she gets a high of some sorts from it. It seems that she is addicted to the attention, and she says that she has no intentions of doing anything with the other guys, but only wants to know she can have them if she wants. She doesn't like that this has caused an issue in our relationship, and also that she seems to be dependent on it to feel good about herself from time to time. I shower her with attention, and I practically worship the ground she walks on, and I want to do anything I can in order to help her overcome this issue, for the sake of both of us. I want to know if there is a medical term for this condition, and what we can do to fight against this. I don't want to lose her due to her need for that attention, and my own insecurities. What can we do?
